NAR
"A Four Song EP" (Yakamashi! Records - TIBBY 1 - IN STOCK!
$2.00
plus shipping in the U.S.
The last single before this unsung Sacramento band parted
ways , going on to play in the Bright Ideas, Bananas, FM Knives,
Lyme Regis, and Smog, only to reconvene in the early 2000s as
the Ski Instructors (along with Tristan of the Yah Mos & Lyme
Regis). Another great example of why Nar just never fit into the
90s U.S indie world. UK-pop-obsessed but with a punkish scrappiness,
Nar got lumped in unfortunately with the east bay pop punk scene
- who didn't know what to do with them either. Features a punked-up
cover of FELT'S "Christopher Street" if my description
of their inscrutibility wasn't clear enough.

HOPKIRK
& LEE "Beneath the Apple Tree" (Dulc-i-Tone Records
- TIBBY-TONE 2) *OUT OF PRINT*
The one and only 7" from this
legendary London duo. First pressed as a CD ep by the band and brought
into the Rough Tracde shop (where Mr. Yakamashi! was working at
the time), some of the shopkeepers loved it so much that there was
a 7" version pressed up. An extra 500 were pressed up &
smuggled into the U.S. and Dulc-i-Tone was born. Soon after, a signing
frenzy occurred and the band disappeared, leaving only this legendary
Love-inspired four-song ep. OUT OF PRINT.

NUZZLE
"No Mas" 7" (Cry 'Til Your Eyes Fall Out - TIBBY-CRY
3)
In stock.
$2.00 plus shipping
One of the few palatable bands to come out of that whole
post-=Gravity Records hardcore scene. Good melodies & tasteful
guitar work made them stand out. First and last time Yakamashi!
ever ventured into this territory (a joint release with Zum &
Sound on Sound), thus the new label moniker. Soon after this record,
Troubleman put out an LP & Zum issued a singles comp. The band
later morphed into the Dying Californian.

AISLERS
SET / FAIRWAYS split 7" (Chocolate Bars & Crashing Cars
- TIB 4) *OUT OF PRINT*
One side has the Aislers covering Georgie Fame & the other has
the Fairways doing a Jesse Garon & the Desparadoes song. If
you can't tell already, Adrian Tomine did the cover art, and there's
a poster version of the artwork included inside. This was going
to be the first in a series of split singles with one loud band
and one quiet band (thus the fourth subsidiary label name), but
everyone thought that was a dumb idea so there you go. OUT OF PRINT.

SLUMBER
PARTY "Slumber Party" LP (Dulc-i-Tone Records - TIBBY
5) In stock.
$8.00 plus shipping
The amazing first album from Detroit's Slum ber Party. Having no
idea that they had signed to Kill Rock Stars already, we asked the
band about doing a record. How can you go wrong with a band that
looked like the Runaways but sounded like something between the
Shop Assistants & Galaxie 500??!! This is their first and best
record, recorded by Matthew Smith of Outrageous Cherry. The covers
are die-cut and silk-screened. CD version on Kill Rock Stars.

SIX ORGANS OF ADMITTANCE / COLOSSAL YES split 7" (Dulc-i-Tone
Records - TIBBY 6) *OUT OF PRINT*
First non-tape release by Utrillo Kushner's Colossal Yes project
is a split with his Comets On Fire bandmate Ben Chasny (who also
recorded the Colossal Yes side at his house). The Colossal Yes song
is just voice and piano - way murkier & stripped down than the
debut full-length that followed soon after. The Six Organs song
is one of his most melodic & well, catchy acoustic songs. Covers
are silkscreened onto crappy plywood smothered in house paint. Limited
to 300 copies. OUT OF PRINT.

an extra unreleased song. If that's not enough for you, it comes

nice and limited to 500 copies.

THE FINCHES "Human Like a House" CD (Dulc-i-Tone Records
- TT 008)
$10.00 plus shipping. In
Stock.
The debut full-length from the almighty duo of Carolyn
Pennypacker Riggs and Aaron Morgan. Dulc-i-Tone's first CD! I
must say that they look fantastic, and they sound just as good.
Wonderful storytelling that grows & grows on you...

THE SKI INSTRUCTORS "Kids On The Street" b/w "Horoscope"
7" (Dulc-i-Tone Records TT09) *OUT OF PRINT*
Television Personalities-worshipping return of the original NAR

Bananas drummer) really hits the nail on the head with these two
punk-pop bits of wonder. Only 200 copies, silkscreened & stamped.

THE MANTLES "Burden/Walk with Me/The Garden/Trouble In the
Streets 7" (Dulc-i-Tone Records TT 010) *OUT OF PRINT*
The long-=awaited first single from San Francisco's best (and only)
purveyors of drone-garage-pop. Four dirgey, dark, and catchy songs
dug deep in a lovely slop of homemade reverb slop, heavy guitar,
and fuzzed-out organ, all recorded brilliantly by our man (and new
semi-permanent
Mantles secret weapon) Drew
Cramer. No one seems to agree on an adequate comparison, but maybe
the Clean if they were into the Seeds instead of the Velvets? 300
copies, silksreen covers.

EAT
SKULL / GANGLIANS split 7" (Dulc-i-Tone Records TT 011)
*OUT
OF PRINT*
At
first listen, you might find this an odd pairing, but soon it
will make sense why the 'Skull has taken GANGLIANS on tour multiple
times. Deep down beneath the thin layer of nego-scuzz, Eat Skull
share's Ganglians knack for great damaged pop. Two songs from
Eat Skull's Sick to Death sessions - one a quick punk sprinter,
the other a woozy pop epic. Ganglians make their vinyl debut with
an undeniable hit in 'Lost Words'. Great stoned-strum-pop goodness.

THE
MANTLES "Bad Design"/"Rachel"= 7"
(I WISH I WAS A SLUMBER-TONE
RECORD 000001)BACK IN PRINT!
$5.00
plus shipping in U.S.
Thrashed
out in the basement on a slow Sunday afternoon, the brand new
'Bad Design' has the lazy drive of a 'tougher' Bats -- hungover
with a shot voice and a negative attitude. It's also notable for
being the recording debut of newest Mantle, key-tickler Matt Kallman
(also of Magic Bullets). Though the 'P' word gets tossed around
too loosely in Mantles descriptions, 'Rachel' is inescapably psychedelic,
and the song most accurately deserving of the term. Recorded during
the comparatively hi-fi album session with Greg Ashley, 'Rachel'
is zoned-out and dreary with a sinister hook. A co-release with
Slumberland, this single is available only from the labels. Hear
'Bad Design' here.

SCROTUM
POLES "Revelation" 7" EP
(Dulc-i-Tone TT 013)
$6.00 plus shipping in the U.S.
Finally! After Auchmithie Forever's
treasures were unleashed last year, now here comes what you've all been
waiting for: a complete reproduction of arguably THE best example of
the pop side (or any side, really!) of the UK DIY post-punk era.
Dundee's Smeg, Burt, Sid & Stripey originally released Revelation themselves in handmade, ill-fitting covers in 1980, and thirty-one years later it still deserves to be filed alongside 14th Floor, Spiral Scratch, and The Medium is Tedium.
With more hits on one single than most bands have across multiple
albums, the five songs here perfectly encapsulate the excitement of the
UK post-punk explosion from the perspective of a teenage record
fanatic. From the raging proto-hardcore 'Radio Tay' and the untouchable bedroom powerpop of "Helicopter Honeymoon", to the gloomy 'Night Train' and the dreary pop classic "Pick the Cats Eyes Out", Revelation
sounds almost like a clunky sampling of what was happening at the time
but simultaeously outdoes the band's idols with its stripped-down
purity and undeniably instant catchiness. Remastered and packaged in
glossy glued sleeves, and including a repro of the orginal entertaining
ditto-on-gold paper insert (complete with connect the dot games and 'Do
the Scrote' dance instructions), it's worth the wait! First pressing of
500 copies.

THE ART MUSEUMS "S.H.O.P.P.I.N.G."/"Feel Like Dreams" 7"
(Dulc-i-Tone TT 014)
$6.00 plus shipping in the U.S.
The sleepy beauty of the Art Museums' debut album Rough Frame
(Woodist) appeared seemingly out of nowhere, but their apparent
off-the-cuff casualness and unpretentious brilliance come as the
logical bubbling up of years absorbing the arcane musical corners of
the 60s, 70s, and 80s - where utopian folk visions, pop-art obsessions,
giddy punk and new wave sheen all make perfect sense. The few who have
seen The Art Museums have been lucky to hear bits of their backlog of
as-yet-unreleased songs, and now the first treasures are finally seeing
sunlight: 'Feel Like Dreams' is a boyish reverie that soars along
pre-prog Genesis-style keyboard chords above crisp drum machine cracks.
It's all rally unexpected and works like you wouldn't believe! And
S.H.O.P.P.I.N.G? Well, without hyperbole, we can say that it is, to us,
the most enjoyable one minute, forty-five seconds put on tape in a
long, long time. The Style Council stripped of pomp and set to a thunderous low-end rumble, 'S.H.O.P.P.I.N.G' is disposable
in all the right ways, the perfect mod-pop soundtrack to your
no-longer-dull walk down the street. REALLY! Beautiful full-color,
heavy-duty glossy glued sleeves. First pressing of 500.
